Estero Seafood Co.,
has a long history in the Seafood Industry. Our family originally
came from Norway, where the sea was our livelihood for generations.
Both my Father and Grandfather immigrated to this country in the early
1920s and began fishing the Grand Banks, and later becoming active in the
sea scallop industry. Then, in the early 1950s we moved to Florida
and entered the Shrimp Industry.
Having been taught by my Father
throughout the years, I have seen and experienced all aspects of this
industry. Not only have I plied the waters of the Gulf of Mexico,
but I have also been active in public sales, having managed a shrimp
processing facility for a number of years. Over this time, I have
seen many new innovations. Our equipment for instance, is now more
environmentally sensitive. Kinder and more protective of a resource
that we hold so dear.
We are in an unique position, in that we
have our own boats which are equipped with state of the art freezer systems.
Immediately upon being caught, the heads are removed and the shrimp are frozen and hand packed. In this way, NO PRESERVATIVES need be added. This
insures that the freshness is unsurpassed.
In my opinion, the Florida Pink Shrimp
is the best you can buy. Its feeding ground is the clean coral sand
off the west coast of Florida which gives it that distinctive color and a
flavor that can't be beat. We deal only in the pink shrimp, not
something that is raised in a pond or imported from some far away corner of
the planet. We guarantee the fact that no preservatives are ever
added.
